How do chakras affect my love and abundance?

Chakras are our energy centers that affect directly influence everything from our financial security, our sex life and self esteem to how we give and receive love, express ourselves and practice spirituality.

Thankfully there are many ways, from yoga and meditation to mind-body techniques, that we can use to help balance our chakras. In CHAKRA SECRETS, I share a “secret” Hawaiian mind-body technique that you can use anytime, anywhere, to instantly relieve pain and other problems, and strengthen your chakras — making you the best you can be.

How do you know if your chakras are in balance?

For example, if you are feeling insecure, it’s hard to have a good foundation for a relationship or profitable career, so you’ll want to strengthen your first or Root Chakra. If you feel needy, crave touch and sex and want to feel more passionate and creative, you should work on unblocking your second or Sacral Chakra.

All seven of the chakras have an impact on our lives. In CHAKRA SECRETS, I show how each of my chakras was blocked and share how I was able to move forward through chakra healing techniques that anyone can use to find love and happiness.

BALANCE YOUR CHAKRAS, BALANCE YOUR LIFE!

I hope you read and enjoy CHAKRA SECRETS. Download your FREE copy on Thursday or Friday, September 20-21, at http://amzn.to/RgxgS3.

Finding New Meaning in Life

How do you find meaning and purpose in your life? Especially if you have lost a partner or friend or job and find a “whole” in your existence?

The answer is to focus on what you want to create and experience next to find meaning and satisfaction. Recognize your gifts and use them to make the world a better place for yourself and others.

Love all, be grateful for what you have, help others and have fun while doing it. Either find meaning in your work itself, or if not that, meaning in working for the love and betterment of our families and all people, and the world itself.

“If you are feeling bored or disconnected from life, then you have lost touch with your spirit and awareness of the many blessings and gifts God has given you. To cure boredom stop holding yourself back from life and take a risk. Take a chance and get involved in something bigger than you. Goodness knows the world has ample opportunities to choose from,” said Sonia Choquette in her recent “Heal Your Life” posting.

There are many opportunities to “connect,” which is the way to overcome spiritual malaise. Volunteering at a shelter or community garden, taking a class to learn a new skill, use your creativity in a new way or find balance in your life (perhaps yoga, meditation or chakra work), or joining a group whose purpose resonates with your heart and soul.

For example, The International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers came into being in 2004 to help spread peace and promote healing.

Together, the Grandmothers unite ancient indigenous prayer lineages from around the world to create a sacred circle for blessing and healing. You can enter into a virtual circle with them for 3 nights the first week of October, 2011, in a circle that will call us into a spirit of reverence and personal and planetary healing.

A UNIQUE CHAKRA TEACHING TOOL

Just finished reading Rainbow Eyes: Chakramid Reflections.

Rainbow Eyes starts with a unique new way to look at and understand the chakras – with an introduction to the Chakramid, a pyramid of chakra energy with the Root Chakra forming a strong foundation, ascending up to the higher energy self in the Crown Chakra. It’s a wonderful way to quickly understand the properties and functions of our body’s energy centers.

The heart of the book is one woman’s self discovery as she journeys through the chakras, balances them and, in the process, recognizes her true path in life. She is able to remove the blocks that her unbalanced energy centers had previously placed in her way.

The book ends with more info on the 7 chakras and Chakramid Journal pages for you to record your own personal reflections. What a wonderful tool for self-discovery and growth! I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to find their life’s purpose, or simply to manifest their dreams more easily. As Mary Jo Shaffer writes, “How quickly something manifests depends upon the alignment of all of the Chakras.”

Avoid the #1 Relationship Killer

Relationship experts and Huna philosophers all think blame and criticism is the #1 reason why relationships fail. Most couples split up, family members stop talking or business partnerships fail because one or both of the parties gets tired of being blamed or criticized.

What is the best and quickest way to stop it?

When you’re blaming someone, what you’re really doing is pointing the finger at them and saying “Hah! It’s your fault. You’re wrong.” Then, that person typically comes back and says, “No, it’s your fault…” and this can go on in an endless loop.

When you catch yourself starting to blame or you’re having critical thoughts about your partner or colleague, make a pleasant “Hmmm….” sound. And what this does is it shifts you out of your “critical” brain into your “wonder” brain.

So, you can say to yourself, “Hmmm… I wonder what I could learn from this.” Or “Hmmm… I wonder how I’m contributing to this situation.”

When you do this, an immediate change takes place in your connection with the person you were previously blaming or criticizing.

Try this the next time you have a critical thought, and watch real miracles open up in your relationships! And of course, work on keeping your heart chakra open to love and compassion – listen to my free Chakra Meditation at http://www.thechakras.org.

Run Toward A Happier Life

I was recently interviewed about my novel, The Chakra Diaries, and how the characters became “emotionally centered.” Balancing the chakras can definitely lead to greater emotional strength and help you live a happier life, as it did for my characters.

In addition to meditation, such as daily Chakra Meditation, there are three steps you can take to master your own emotions, the way to run toward a happier life.

1) First, see things as they are in your life now, and accept them.  Journaling or keeping a diary, as did my characters, is a great way to see the truth in front of your eyes.  Don’t see your situation as worse than it is, just the simple truth.

2) Believe that you have the power to change things.  In fact, see your situation as better than it is.  Have a vision for what you want in your life, a compelling future to strive for, a reason to get up in the morning.  Keep your eye on the prize.  Write your goals down in your journal, visualize having what you want during your meditations.

3) Move toward your goal in baby steps, achievable steps, one small move at a time to make your life the way you want it to be.  That way, you won’t scare yourself with fear of failure.  You’ll increase your self-confidence with every small success you experience as you make your life the way you see it – happy.  Be sure to write down every successful move you make in your diary and share the good news with others.

Letting Go of Anger and Other Negative Emotions

Letting go of negative thoughts, feelings and beliefs can be life changing, and The Sedona Method® has been recognized worldwide as one of the simplest and fastest ways to do so. My good friend, Nicole Lawrence, recently introduced me to its methods of actually letting the feelings come up, and verbally agreeing to let them go, now. Instructing your body to release the stress and tension associated with a “feeling” works much more quickly than mentally trying to deal with your emotions – you’ll just keep rationalizing your anger or fear.

To watch a great introduction to the method, go to:

Link to see the movie online or purchase the DVD:http://www.lettinggo.tv/

I find this method works well with balancing the heart chakra, letting go of negative emotions and beliefs, and opening to love and compassion.

MANIFESTING A GREAT RELATIONSHIP, A GREAT LIFE

With all this talk of manifesting your goals, how do you actually accomplish
conscious manifestation? There are many ways – here is advice gleaned from Gay Hendricks.

Manifestation begins to happen after you’ve become skilled at focusing positively
on your goals (stage one) and loving yourself as you proceed toward them (stage two.)

The third stage is to cultivate an ongoing experience of wonder.

As you go through your life, get in the habit of asking lots of
wonder-questions. A wonder-question is one you don’t know the answer to.
A wonder-question is something you’re genuinely curious about.

When a tough situation emerges, go toward wonder rather than
toward a fixed position. If you’ve been struggling with your weight all your
life, shift for a moment to wonder instead of struggle. Ask a wonder question:
“Hmmm, I wonder what my weight-struggle is really about?”
(Compare that to a non-wonder question: “Does Jenny Craig or Weight-
Watchers have the best program?”)

Wondering is more fun and it makes things work faster. If we’d
gotten stuck in feeling victimized by our buyer who backed out, we wouldn’t
have had much fun. We might not have gotten the house back on the
market and sold it quite so quickly, either.

You can turn any life-situation into a wonder-question. If you’re
having a relationship struggle, let go of blaming your partner or yourself.
Instead, wonder “Why would I be creating a relationship struggle right
now?”

If you’re having a money-struggle, turn it into a wonder-question:
“Hmmm, what am I needing to learn from this money-struggle?”

Under stress, we humans tend to clutch our bellies in fear and cling to
fixed positions. We look for somebody to blame. We think we know whose
fault it is and what they ought to do to fix the problem.

Let’s try something new: Under stress, go to wonder rather than fear.
Let go of positions and float free in wonder.

Your Partner – Macho Mike or Weak Willie?

Dear Becca,

My new boyfriend Karl was very sweet and attentive on our first few dates, making me think that FINALLY I had met the one. But soon his high voice and tentative manner began to bug me. He could get his feelings hurt so easily – like when I told him to get over it when he complained that his rent controlled apartment was going coop. Other times he would practically beg me to come to bed, knowing that I had some important briefs I had to finish (not his) before the morning.

My last boyfriend was so macho and strong-willed, Karl just pales in comparison.

Becca, I don’t have to have a Val Kilmer, take-charge alpha male with a Barry White voice, of course, that would be nice, but….now I am the unsure one. Please help.
Signed, Julie in Joliet

Dear Julie,
Thanks for writing. My take on your situation is that Karl is just too feminine to fit your “macho man” needs. Maybe he wants you to wear the spurs rather than the other way around. My guess is that the men in your life, including your father, have had a preponderance of male energy and your man-puzzle is missing a few pieces with Karl. However, Karl’s foibles aside, you may need to balance your male and female energies to attract a man who will rock your world. Here are a few ways to do it:

Chant “OM” for several minutes to stimulate more male energy.

Focus on the color Blue which symbolizes the cool, logical male- visualize it, breathe it in, surround yourself with it, bathe in it, wear it out.

Sweep your hands outward from your sides toward the sky. Look up and invite the energy from above to flow into you.

Practice these energy balancing methods every day for a month and please let me know how you are doing. As always, I invite reader comment.

Namaste! Becca

Are your Chakras in Balance?

After reading my novel, The Chakra Diaries, many wonder which of their chakras may be out of balance. There’s a very good questionnaire at http://www.EclecticEnergies.com, that can give you an indication of which chakra/s could use strengthening.

You can also have someone test you with a pendulum – any object hung on a string or chain that is able to swing freely. It works by responding to micro-muscular movements of the fingers, which are themselves responding to a focused question that you ask about something… you can choose what meaning to give to the following kinds of responses, e.g., clockwise circle – open chakra; counter-clockwise circle – closed chakra. I have also experienced a perfectly still pendulum when a chakra is closed. There’s more info on how I use the pendulum in the prologue to The Chakra Diaries.

If you’re unsure which chakra to focus on, do a Chakra Meditation to balance all your chakras, starting at the root chakra, the base for all our security and balance in life. Try my guided visualization from The Chakra Diaries: Chakra Meditation.

You can also use colored crystals, rocks or gems in a simple Spectrum Chakra Balance, adapted from Crystal Healing by Simon and Sue Lilly, to reinforce your chakra energies and help them to return to normal functioning:

Choose a grounding stone (black, brown or dark red) to place between your feet. Then choose a stone or crystal corresponding to the different colors of the chakras, placing the red one between your knees, the orange right above your pelvic bone, the yellow right above your navel, the green over your heart center, the blue on your throat, indigo or dark blue on your forehead and a violet or clear stone on the floor just above the top of your head. Lie down with these stones in place for a period of about 5 minutes or until you feel complete, then remove the stones starting with the one above your head.

Relax for a few more minutes, still lying down, then enjoy a sense a well-being and balance, ready to face the stresses of the day ahead.

Finding Mr. Right

Becca, now that Valentine’s Day has come and gone and the aroma of the roses is a little tired and stale, how do I know that my current man is Mr. Right? He is such a mixed bag of my Wants in a man. He has a good job, not a great one, but says he wants to retire early and see the world. Brought up in foster homes, he is uncertain about wanting to have children although he loves to play with my sister’s baby. Although he exercises a lot, he eats for an army and his hair is still mostly thick, but thinning on his crown.

Should I commit to him heart and soul and hope that he won’t change, or date the handsome, tall, volleyball-playing guy in the office who makes my heart go pitter-patter when he throws me air kisses, comments on how sexy I look and invites me to a rooftop party? My office girlfriends say this luscious Lothario is more my type than Mr. Nice Guy but I wonder if they aren’t just taken in by his wry smile and broad chest that begs to be covered in hot kisses. I see him as a charming flirt who may have a hard time settling on where to eat for dinner, much less who will be dessert. Is a good man hard to find, like a parking place?

Dear Decision Time,

I have heard the saying, men are like parking places, they are either already taken or too far away. But, I believe the right one is out there for you. Real life is not like Sex in the City, the pieces of our lives falling into place and fitting together wonderfully despite our busload of blunders. As we all know, looks fade, yet attitudes, behaviors and beliefs don’t, so that our pick of a mate should be someone who we can grow old with and genuinely enjoy spending time together with.

So, when the final blush has faded and the rose petals dropped away, your mate-to-be may not be either Lothario or Mr. Nice Guy, they may only be love in training. Ask yourself whether you can accept the proverbial “good” with the “bad,” whether you feel deep down that you and your pick of the litter will treat each other with respect and honesty, allowing each other the room to grow. However DT, perhaps the greatest lesson to remember is that a loving relationship is NOT about what our partner is giving. We cannot receive what we have not already given, so be grateful, appreciative and loving about what your partner, or potential partner, brings to the table. Criticism, argument, blame, nagging and fault have no business being in the same county as a loving relationship as they will soon infect it and crush it to the ground. Bathe yourself in happiness and positive thoughts and happy people will flock to you, even Mr. Right.

Namaste! Becca
