THE CHAKRA SECRET BY MICHELLE HASTIE – REVIEW AND AUTHOR INTERVIEW

CS CoverKnowledge about our chakras can give us information on where we’re out of balance and where we need to focus more attention to improve our health and lives. In The Chakra Secret: What Your Body is Telling You, Michelle Hastie helps you understand the chakras in very easy-to-understand terms so you can use them to understand why you may be experiencing physical problems.

Throughout her min-e-book™, Michelle Hastie teaches how each energy center shares wisdom that correlates with your mental and emotional states and how that wisdom manifests in the physical body. And she explains how to tune into the chakras to find paths back to living naturally, freely and peacefully.

Michelle recommends small daily changes that can lead to dramatic results. As she moves through the seven major chakras, she discusses the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual components of each, guiding the reader to understand how to get back into alignment.

Talking about diet and weight, Michelle zeros in on the body’s wisdom, e.g., she says weight gain isn’t happening to you, but for you. She explains how weight issues can be associated with different chakras and recommends shifting your focus off of weight loss or changing your body, and instead looking at the ways you can increase self-care and self-esteem (associated with the Sacral Chakra) by choosing healthy foods and connecting to your unique abilities.

The Chakra Secret provides exercises and yoga poses, affirmations, meditations and a chakra recipe from Chef Maria Schonder for each chakra. Plus, Michelle shares her own life lessons, such as “You control nothing so stop trying.” This is especially important in balancing the Crown Chakra, surrendering to faith and trust and starting a spiritual practice.

The Chakra Secret provides wonderful insight on how we can take responsibility for our lives, living in choice instead of in reaction. And how we can live in balance and flow, trusting that all will be well.

Author Michelle Hastie has a background in personal training, weight-loss coaching, food psychology, neuro-linguistic programming, and yoga. Here she answers my questions about her latest book:

BECCA: What message would you most like readers to take away from The Chakra Secret?

MICHELLE: I want readers to feel like they can heal their bodies through many different modalities. The worst feeling in the world is when you have a pain or disease and nothing works to alleviate it. Hopefully with this book they can begin to think outside the box and take care of their body in a way that haven’t yet thought of or tried.

Becca: As a weight loss coach, what have you found to be the most common misconceptions around dieting?

Michelle: The most common misconception about dieting is that you can attack it with intellect. Most people load up on nutrition and/or fitness information to become an expert in health. The solution to losing weight is not to use your head but to use your body. Use your body sensations and feelings to guide you through your weight loss journey. Become an expert not in health but in you.

Learn how to feel hunger and fullness in your body. Learn which foods work and don’t work in your body. Learn what movements feel good and which ones feel punishing. Learn how to dress your body so that your clothes are flattering today, not once the weight comes off. Most of all become friends with your body instead of viewing your body as the enemy.

Becca: What do you find is the best way to discover which chakra(s) may be blocked before they cause physical issues?

Michelle: Assuming one knows where the chakras are located, the first place to start is with your own intuition. Do you feel as if one chakra is calling to you simply based on where it is located? Learn about the chakras and what each center represents. Ask yourself if you could improve upon these centers based on their location and what they represent. To keep your chakras in balance, live a life of balance. Be open and honest with yourself and the kind of life you desire to live. Then take every step necessary to fulfill your desires.

Becca: You emphasize becoming a human “being” rather than a human “doing.” Any tips for that?

Michelle: We live in a society that has labeled “just being” as unproductive. Most people call “just being” “doing nothing.” Therefore the first tip is to discontinue this label as it’s untrue. Then you will want to be honest with yourself and how you feel about rest. If you spend a day in rest do you feel lazy? Are you truly resting with presence or are you checking out with TV, food or drugs/alcohol? In order to be a human “being” you must become at peace with this idea of presence in all things. When you do have downtime how can you use it to relax and be present at the same time?

Becca: You recommend staying present in the moment. How can that best be achieved?

Michelle: The easiest way to stay present is to ask yourself what you want. If you are home after a long day of work instead of checking out with food, alcohol or TV ask yourself what do I want to do or how do I want to feel. Take that extra moment to answer this question before you go into auto-pilot and just do what you have always done.

Oftentimes we struggle with staying present because there are some thoughts or feelings that we don’t want to acknowledge. Prepare yourself with a journal or meditation to allow these thoughts or feelings to be acknowledged and then be honest about what you really would like to do with your time.

Becca: What makes YOU feel inspired?

Michelle: Music makes me feel inspired. Moving my body makes me feel inspired. Cuddling my dogs, kissing my husband or watching my baby laugh makes me feel inspired. But most of all, what makes me feel inspired is balance. I work very hard to never over-fill my cup. If I have been working a lot, I take breaks. If I have been lifting weights a lot, I do yoga. If I have been with my baby a lot, I hang with just my girlfriends. I seek to live a life of balance. This allows me to avoid burnout and survive so that I can thrive and truly live passionately.

Walking in Grace with Grief – Review and Author Interview

WalkGrace text_Layout 1One of my best friends lost her son in an accident and I felt the terrible anguish she and her family faced. I couldn’t imagine how one could go on to grow stronger and more centered in the midst of such tremendous grief. The answers came to me in Walking in Grace with Grief: Meditations for Healing After Loss by Della Temple. She beautifully offers her personal story of the loss of her son and the path she took to release her pain and find comfort in a continuing connection to him. She also describes how others can be of help to those suffering a loss, something we all need to know.

Part memoir and part meditation guide, Temple offers powerful guided visualizations to ground yourself, release the pain, grow stronger by filling yourself with universal energy and connecting to your higher self.

Using her meditations, you too can choose a path of growth and strength and release pain and grief, whatever your own personal struggles. Temple explains how to “let go of the story, the story of what would or could have been.”

Della Temple is an author whose writings meld the worlds of the physical and the metaphysical, a teacher and an energy healer. Here, she answers my questions:

INTERVIEW WITH DELLA TEMPLE

Becca: How would you describe the term “Walking in Grace?”

Della: A few days after the unexpected death of my son, I found myself in what I refer to as a state of Grace. I don’t know how else to explain it. I didn’t feel anger or rage against God. I experienced sorrow, a deep, fathomless sadness, grief, love, acceptance, compassion, and happiness – yes happiness – all at once. I felt the Divine surrounding me, in what I call the energy of Grace, offering me comfort and support.

I lived in this protective coating of Grace for most of the first year. It went wherever I went – and it literally felt like I was walking in a bubble of Grace. I wanted to include that in the title of my book, but there was also another part of my experience that was equally important. I don’t believe we walk through grief because grief isn’t something we get over. We walk with grief for the rest of our lives. We will always feel the hole in the heart left by the death of our loved one. The pain lessens, but grief is with us always. Walking in grace with grief is a very literal description of how I felt that first year of loss.

Becca: What message would you most like readers to get from your book?

Della: Often, we are so caught up in the emotions of sorrow, sadness, grief, anger, rebellion, and outright rage that we fail to hear our loved ones’ voices. But they are here. They constantly surround us with their love and support. We just have to open ourselves up to be able to receive their messages.

I often felt my son surrounding me in love and comfort—especially during the first year after his passing. I accepted this as a natural occurrence, and our Spirit-to-Spirit talks became an integral part of my healing journey. When we talked, he exhibited some of the same personality traits as in the body, and his sense of humor and playfulness helped ease my sorrow. I treasured these conversations because, believe it or not, they kept me rooted to the earth. They confirmed my deep faith that my son Rick had just changed form – the body had died, but his soul, the being-ness of my son was very much still “alive.”

What I’ve heard from readers is that some of them don’t believe they have the ability to talk Spirit-to-Spirit with their loved ones. Some even believe that they are not worthy or intuitive enough to communicate in this way.

What I tell them is to try.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to step into meditation. Daily meditation offers us the opportunity to quiet the outside voices and tune into our inner knowingness. Often our loved ones can reach into this space of soft awareness and let us know they are watching over us.

Rick’s presence in my life – his Spirit’s presence – confirmed my deep faith in life after life. My mountain of sorrow was lessened because I knew he existed as Spirit, and that was very healing.

Becca: We all hear about immersing ourselves in the present moment. What are your tips for doing so, to not focus on what could have been?

Della: I’ve come to think that grief is two-fold. It’s the painful longing for the physical presence of our loved one, and it’s the emotional heartache we feel as we disengage from these unfulfilled dreams, the sorrows of what could have been. The stories of a life unlived.

Every time my thoughts wandered to the what-if-he-had-lived stories, I pulled myself back. I literally would not allow myself to experience those thoughts. I chose another thought. I would force myself to think of something else – to remember a time from the past when he made me laugh, or to remember his voice or his smell. Anything but a what-if-he’d-lived story. This took energy and effort, but I think it made the difference in how I healed.

I shifted the thought and experienced my sorrow in a different vibration if that makes any sense. It was a higher, cleaner vibration – a healing vibration full of love and mercy. This vibration felt full of acceptance, kindness, and gentleness. I knew that if I could stay in this vibration – if I could surround myself with thoughts and feelings that resonated there – I could heal this deep wound. I had energy tools to help me stay in this vibration, and I share those tools with the reader throughout the book, so they too can stay out of the mire of what-could-have-been.

Defusing the power of the story allows you to return to the present, the now, the current situation without the baggage of what could have been, should have been, or wasn’t meant to be. Releasing my old stories allowed me to look at Rick’s death from a new perspective. It wasn’t about what could have been. It’s about what is – right here, right now. I still felt the pain, but it was a pain of missing my loved one right here, right now. It was not about all the future things that would not be.

Becca: What helped you most during your time of grieving?

Della: What helped me most during this time of sorrow was to embrace fully the concept of life after death. I have always believed in reincarnation – that we exist as eternal Spirits and come to earth to experience certain challenges and emotions. As we make ready for our trip to earth, we call together the Spirit forms of our soon-to-be-parents, siblings, friends, and colleagues. God is there too. We gather around a big “conference table in the sky,” and we design our soon-to-be life. We think about what our main purpose will be in this lifetime, and we design a life that presents many challenges and learning opportunities. Some of us choose to deal with only one issue; others choose many. Everyone at the table agrees to be a participant in this Contract of Life. Some will choose to be our mentors and trusted friends. Others will choose the harder role of being the “mirrors,” the ones who push our buttons and cause strife and disharmony. Each will take on a role that enhances the learning opportunity of both parties.

This Contract of Life includes many variables, or different paths that a person may take once they come to earth. Some paths are straight and narrow, leading right to the person’s overarching purpose while other paths are full of curves and unexpected dips and bumps. Some life paths are long, and others are short. Every day that a person is alive, she or he chooses which path to travel. This is free will in action.

Becca: What advice do you have for first-time authors who feel they have inspiration to share?

Della: Write! Journal, doodle, scribble – it doesn’t make any difference. Just move your story out into the world. Some people I know are more comfortable doing short videos, others write poetry. Don’t worry about whether it’s “good enough” – just share. You will get feedback along the way about your writing style, and that will help you craft your message so that it resonates with your audience. Most of us (especially me!) worry about what others think of our writing. Some of the energy tools I teach in this book helped to tame my inner critic, giving me the confidence and willingness to share.

Why did I write The Chakra Energy Diet? So many of my friends and students have told me that they’ve tried every diet, but in the end, NO amount of willpower can stop them from gaining back the weight and more. Looking for answers took me right to the Chakras, and how we need to feed them with food that’s full of energy instead of processed, addictive, chemical-laden ingredients.

Ann Doherty, RN, CDE, a Diabetes Educator, and Serge Kahili King, PhD, a Huna healer, added their extensive knowledge on how we’re sabotaged by our own bodies’ stress responses and by the food industry to have cravings and overeat. Even better – they offer stress-busting solutions. Look with me at which of your chakras have been stressed, and follow my easy suggestions to quickly move into balance.

Here’s what one reviewer, Mary Jo Shaffer, Co-Owner of Heart Projects and author of Rainbow Eyes: Chakramid Reflections, said about The Chakra Energy Diet:

A Balanced Recipe for Vibrant Health and Well-Being

There are so many things that I love about this book; first and foremost is that Becca Chopra shares her extensive wisdom to help you optimally feed not only your physical body, but your subtle, or nonphysical body, as well. And she does this in a very balanced way, providing a virtual treasure chest of tools that include real, health-giving foods; meditations and breath work; affirmations and healing activities, and specific yoga poses.

Becca begins by pointing out the breakdown in the conventional American diet, which is loaded with sugar, processed foods, GMOs and soda. Then she points the way to a better way of eating that actually nourishes body, mind and spirit. She also speaks at length about how stress and your own insecurities about your body can stand in the way of you reaching your health and weight goals and how you can lift those blocks.

Next, taking you on a systematic journey through your chakras, Becca introduces each of these seven major energy centers to you and helps you to pinpoint your own weaknesses and imbalances. She then offers a wealth of information for you to use in nourishing your physical body and revitalizing your chakra system.

The book ends with appendixes that include a “Chakra Yoga Flow” sequence to balance your seven chakras and also “The Circle of Joy Breath” that integrates Body, Mind and Spirit. The instructions are clear and detailed enough so that even a beginner can complete the sequences.

All in all, this delightful, easy-to-read guidebook is a feast for the senses served up in Becca’s expressive writing style, complemented by beautiful photography of food recipes and yoga poses.

The Unity Oracle: Review and Author Interview

Unity Oracle coverThe Unity Oracle: A spiritual adventure to save the world is truly an action adventure novel that takes you on a page-turning ride into spiritual awakening. The tale begins with a geologist, Jason, in the Artic Tundra, where he finds the Earth’s energy strong and alive… and his search for precious metals becomes more of a search for his soul.

In an area of high energetic magnitude, surrounded by crystal rock on Chevron Mountain, he enters a portal where he sees translucent visions of people, geometric shapes and symbols, and learns from an Inuit Elder that he is about to begin his karmic path. He will be assisted on this path by many spirit guides and helpers including a gold octahedron, an East Indian Yogi, a Hindu couple, two Madonnas, a Polynesian goddess, and a Native American Indian Chief.

Jason undergoes phenomenal mystical experiences as he travels around the world to spiritual communities such as the Findhorn Foundation and Oneness University. Along the way, he learns much, often putting himself through pain and peril, e.g., when he proves: “Most fear is not even real and the only way to understand that is to step into it.”

Step into it he does, and we grow along with Jason as his wild spiritual adventure encompasses finding 7 golden triangles in mysterious ways that reflect his personal growth and finally combine to become a golden octahedron, The Unity Oracle, that can bring love and healing to our world.

Along the way, Jason undergoes out-of-body experiences, release of entities and primordial emotions, kundalini rising, communicating with angelic beings, accurate premonitions, bilocation, the use of animal totems, visualization and the art of manifestation. Take the ride with Jason through his spiritual boot camp and you too will envision a possible future of beauty, with the Great Spirit working with the Earth and its people.

Joseph D. Drumheller is a spiritual healer and geologist, living on transecting ley lines in the evergreen state of Washington, USA. He describes himself as an international man of mystery, who when he’s not at home writing about the Adventure, is out living it. Here, he answers my questions about The Unity Oracle.

Becca: In general, how much of your book comes from your own personal experiences?

Joseph: The Unity Oracle is about 20% pure fiction. I’ve lived the rest of it. The inspiration behind the book comes from mystical experiences I’ve had in Alaska, Findhorn, Oneness University and other places in Nature. I’ve also sprinkled in a little wisdom from what I’ve learned through relationships and the internal world of healing.

Becca: Your protagonist, Jason, faces some dangerous, disorienting episodes. Is that par for the course in spiritual awakening?

Joseph: I’m not sure. I don’t know what other people go through. Everyone’s spiritual awakening is a customized gift from the Divine. No two are alike, so it’s best not to compare. The disorienting and dangerous awakenings Jason experiences are a reflection of my own. I’m an Aries. We tend to hit head first.

Becca: What message do you hope readers take away from your book?

Joseph: My first aspiration was to paint a positive vision of the future. We’re in rapidly changing times with uncertainty looming on the horizon. We’re also in an unparalleled time of spiritual awakening. I wanted to combine global spiritual growth with a somewhat realistic outcome. It’s really an adventure about hope.

Becca: On Jason’s adventure, what main spiritual truths are conveyed?

Joseph:

  1. Suffering. Suffering is a result of suppressed pain that gets locked into the subconscious mind. When that happens, pain repeats.
  2. Healing. Suppressed emotion can be healed in meditation. When that’s done, repeating patterns of pain stop.
  3. Relationships. Close connections with people act as mirrors designed to accelerate personal growth. Marriage is the best example.
  4. AwakeningWhen suppressed emotion is healed, it opens the doors to spiritual awakenings. That’s when someone evolves from the understanding of a higher power to the experience of it.
  5. Union. When two people are independently awakened, they can form a bond of spiritual union, which goes beyond the physical and emotional aspects of most ‘normal’ relationships.
  6. Power. When someone is spiritually awakened, they can begin to align their will with the Divine. That creates the dynamics of flow, synchronicity and developing skills that transcend the physical world.
  7. Synergy. Synergy is the exponential multiplier effect applied to spirituality (i.e., the tipping point). Through collective consciousness and intent, we can change the world.

Becca: What is your vision of the Divine?

Joseph: Unfortunately, I’m not a visionary seer or a psychic. That means I don’t see God. I’m a feeler. My connection to a higher power is through a developed level of sensitivity. To me, it feels like electricity running through my body.

Becca: How would you suggest someone approach their desire for spiritual awakening?

Joseph: Aggressively and with their whole heart.  Go for it.

Becca: Do you have a continuing spiritual practice?

Joseph: I meditate daily, but my personal experience of Divine energy is greatly amplified when I work with other people in my healing sessions. It’s a type of synergy.

Becca: How does your non-fiction book, The Subconscious, The Divine and Me, relate to The Unity Oracle?

Joseph: They are more or less the same story. The Unity Oracle is an epic adventure of storytelling. The Subconscious, the Divine and Me is a how-to introduction to spirituality with lots of examples and case studies. Both cover similar aspects on the evolution of spiritual truths.

Joseph Drumheller’s books, The Unity Oracle and The Subconscious, the Divine and Me, are available on Amazon.

Balance Your Chakras, Balance Your Life – FREE KINDLE

Download FREE on Amazon KindleI receive emails every day offering some new (and very expensive) salve, cream or pill for pain relief. All because I bought my mother an ointment for her arthritic knees. Then, I taught her Dynamind, and she now uses this mind-body technique to relieve not only any pain in her knees, but her tension headaches too… balancing her Root and Third Eye Chakras.

I first introduced Dynamind in my book, Chakra Secrets, and over a million people around the world are using it to heal themselves of pain and emotional distress, according to its developer, Hawaiian shaman, Serge Kahili King, Ph.D.  In Balance Your Chakras, Balance Your Life (FREE today and tomorrow on Amazon Kindle) I show how to use DYNAMIND adapted for each chakra, which I find makes it even more effective as an “instant” healing technique.

What have others had to say about this method of chakra healing?

“In this book, Becca Chopra shares how to relax the body and mind enough so that our healing energy can flow freely through our chakras. I learned this “instant healing” Dynamind technique from Serge Kahili King at our yearly Hawaii Health Getaway, but find it even more effective in relieving tension and pain when coupled with chakra visualization and toning, as Becca Chopra describes. Just like regular exercise can keep one’s body and mind toned, using the Dynamind Toners described in this book can keep your chakras and your body in balance.” ~ Ann Doherty, RN, CDE

“I read this book and another of Becca’s, checked out her website, and viewed her video that follows this book. For the first time in 2 years, I am pain free. I am more at peace. THANKS!” ~ Amazon reviewer

Yes, there’s even a video which you can also download for FREE, in which you can follow along as I apply Dynamind to healing pain, aches, and emotional problems associated with each chakra. Balance and Tone Your Chakras can be downloaded on my website at www.theChakras.org.

Happy healing!

“Happiness: The Key to Inner Sunshine” Review and Author Interview

For a complete handbook to achieving a happy life, I recommend Nicola Krystina Greene’s “Happiness: The Key to Inner Sunshine.” From ways to discover your inner sunshine, to ways to dissolve any blocks you have to happiness, Greene covers all the current wisdom on finding your inner light and letting go of negativity, fear, suppressed anger and hurt.

Despite your life circumstances, Greene shows you how to live a sunnier life right now by living in the moment, practicing meditation, and expressing your true self. One of the more beautiful ways she shares is how to reconnect with nature and find inspiration all around you. As a daily meditator, I also appreciated the powerful meditation techniques she teaches, including the Hong-Sau Meditation and Candle Flame Meditation.

Greene not only shares wisdom for the ages, but beautiful quotes from those who experienced happiness despite all odds. From Helen Keller: “Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content.” And a Chinese proverb: “Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are.”

Unhappiness only exists in the mind, writes Greene. So open your mind to the possibilities of a happier life. Anyone who puts her suggestions into practice will feel freer, more empowered, and definitely, happier.

Nicola Krystina Greene is a freelance writer in the U.K. who travelled the globe for 10 years meeting spiritual masters, healers and religious experts in search of greater joy and happiness. Here she answers my questions regarding the subject of happiness and her book:

Becca: What is happiness?

Nicola: Happiness is a deeply subjective personal experience and we each feel it and express it in unique ways. But it does have a universal aspect to it which is that it is related to our ability to feel our inner light.

That ‘inner sunshine’ sits within us, waiting to be unlocked, but is usually hidden behind the layers we create around us that imprison or dull that light – such as our fears, masks, and distortions. The more we free ourselves from false beliefs and learn to connect with our internal sunshine, then the more we experience our true selves, our connection with the Universe, and finally have the keys to lasting happiness.

Becca: Why do you think more people aren’t “happy?”

Nicola: Many people do not yet understand that happiness is not found in external objects, or in having specific events occur, and until they know where the real source of their happiness resides, they will always be seeking in the wrong places.

Along with this, today we live in isolated, artificial spaces and are less in tune with the healing rhythms of the outdoors and the natural world. Instead we have developed frenetic and technologically driven mechanical rhythms that create unbalance in our systems and biology.

Becca: Would you say, as others have, that our brains are wired more to remember trauma than happiness, so we have to work at being happy?

Nicola: It may be true that traumatic events are more easily remembered, and happiness is something we always have to work at. However, when we learn to re-program our thoughts and habits towards happiness and positivity (as shown in the book) then we may find that happiness comes progressively more easily and effortlessly.

When we practice happiness, we naturally attract more positive events to ourselves, and will even find that we experience challenging or traumatic times differently. As we learn to turn up the light inside us, raise our vibration, and centre our attention and consciousness within that inner light, then we develop a habit that will help us to more easily return to our happiness again.

Becca: What are the most common misconceptions about happiness?

Nicola: Perhaps the most common misconception about happiness is the idea that the feelings of joy we experience are caused by something that has happened outside of us – an event or action. However, we can ignite that same feeling simply by remembering an event or picturing a scene or that makes us happy, and this shows that the outer stimulus is not necessary, so we don’t even need the external event or person in order to feel happiness.

Becca: How can we train ourselves to have a positive outlook?

Nicola: There are great ways to train our brains to help us notice things that make us happy and get in the habit of deliberately thinking more uplifting thoughts. By using these techniques, and changing the neurological pathways in our brains, we can train ourselves to generate positive feelings more often than negative or pessimistic feelings. This way we begin to see things that make us joyful more often, helping us to become happier and happier!

Becca: What led you to write this book?

Nicola: When I was 18 I developed health issues that gradually became more debilitating over the years and which led to times of depression. I spent a decade travelling the globe looking for answers and healing, and along the way I met many amazing spiritual masters, shamans, psychic surgeons and gifted spiritual teachers who helped me to find my happiness again.

I gradually began to focus less on my health issues, and more on being happy now, learning to enjoy the beauty of each moment exactly as it is. I finally stopped reaching for happiness in the future, and got to where I could feel that everything is perfect in this moment, even during times of sickness or pain.

I began to feel so much joy that when people saw me they described me as ‘sunshine’ and that it made them happy to be around me. I knew that this was something I wanted to share, because all of us can feel that ‘sunshine’. So, I decided to write this book as a way to give back and pass on this wisdom.

Becca: What advice do you have for first-time authors who feel they have inspiration to share?

Nicola: The biggest tip I can offer is to focus on the feeling that you want to inspire in your readers. If you want them to feel happy then focus on happiness, or if you want to offer advice on overcoming fear, then focus on strength and empowerment.

The more strongly you engage with that feeling as you write, the more you will find that your words become energized and infused with that energy, and your writing will align more closely and powerfully with the message you are trying to convey. You have a specific energy and message that is unique to you, so when you write, allow your own unique expression to come through.

From my friend, Ocean Robbins, of The Food Revolution Network:

I love good films. Especially when they combine artistic eloquence with a vitally important message.

That’s why I’m so excited about the premier of Dr. Pedram Shojai’s new movie, Origins.

Click here to watch it now, for no charge.

Dr. Shojai used to run a large medical practice. But he got tired of treating the same symptoms over and over. He wanted to understand the root causes of sickness and health.

That drove Dr. Shojai to spend the last 4 years and nearly $1 million researching and producing Origins.

This documentary is a riveting indictment of a status quo that is sickening millions and robbing so many people of health, vitality and joy. But it’s also filled with solutions and hope.

It’s a film that comes to some controversial conclusions.  Whether you agree with them all or not, I’m sure you’ll find it inspiring, provocative, and uplifting.

The Law of Attraction Works Because the Creator is Within Us All

61cuvi4BMYLAre you ready to live a life filled with vitality and joy in the never-ending playground of the universe? Then you’ll want to pick up The Seed of Christ/Buddha Within You. Susanna Eun and Simon Kim share the empowering message that we can all find the Creator within ourselves and, therefore, we have unlimited potential to create any reality we desire.

Susanna Eun, an energy healer from New Jersey, was looking for answers to the core questions: Who and What Am I? She found them in the writings of Korean Simon Kim. What was the message of Kim’s teaching? That humans are the representation of the ultimate Creator in human form and that living one’s life as the Creator, whether we use the term God, Christ, or Buddha, is the only solution to end the pain and suffering in the world.

LET GO OF YOUR ILLUSIONS AND STORIES

This fascinating book assures us that life as we know it is simply a by-product of the illusions and stories we have created with our thoughts. Instead of existing only in the very small frame of reference of the reality within which we live, we have the capacity to be much greater beings.

What is the nature of our true Self once we wake up from the world of dreams and illusions? In questions and answers with Eun, Kim explains that “the person you used to accept as yourself is actually an avatar that experiences only a part of your true Self on this planet in this lifetime.”

Because we are all part of the “Creator,” our desires will turn into realities if we truly put all our effort into it. In this way, the authors explain the “Law of Attraction,” and instruct the reader to declare, “I am someone with unlimited potential and endless possibilities.” We naturally become the ones we accept and acknowledge ourselves to be.

Unless we are awakened to our true nature, the world will continuously reflect what we perceive ourselves to be – human beings with limitation and shortcomings.

HOW TO AWAKEN TO OUR TRUE NATURE

The answer given in this book is surprisingly simple: Change your perspective on who you think you are. Let go of the old stories and limiting beliefs and embrace your power to create the life of your choosing… regarding the world as your canvas and living your daily life as if you are painting a masterpiece. It can help to view yourself as the epicenter of the whole universe, say the authors, instead of from the perspective of your physical body.

How can you live life to the fullest? The authors suggest:

  • Simply accepting the whole world and everyone in it as they are, without any interpretations.
  • Establishing the best possible relationships with all beings in all situations.
  • Offering gratitude whenever possible and witnessing how the quality of your life increases.
  • Living in the present moment and letting go of your past and future.

If you have been living inside a dream, scripting endless sad stories, firmly believing you knew who you were, you may want to practice the “STOP” Meditation offered in the book, to stop all mental activities and focus on who and what is behind all your decisions and choices. The result can be a deep and abiding peace as you remember that you are complete and perfect to begin with.

closeup3 (3)Here, co-author Susanna Eun, an alternative healer whose specialties include acupuncture, Eastern and Western nutrition, and other energy healing techniques, answers my questions:

1) How did you collaborate with Simon Kim? In addition to translating his book, how much did you add to The Seed of Christ/Buddha Within You?

Eun: I first read about his work in some spiritual publications. After I was convinced of the originality, authenticity, and truthfulness of his work, I went over to Korea to meet him in person.

The original work published in Korean was way too complicated and heavy, hence I had to rewrite the entire book to make it more readable and explainable. I had to cut out a lot of deep Buddhist philosophies; I also added quite bit of texts on creationism, theory of evolution, the guidelines of meditation, all of which were not included in the original texts. Simon Kim entrusted me with the entire process.

2) What one precept inspired you so much that you took on the endeavor of sharing Kim’s work?

Eun: Everything I had learned and practiced prior to encountering Simon Kim’s teaching did NOT provide enough voltage to break through the veils of relativity and duality. He had something extraordinary to offer – his teachings were so dramatically different, simple and revolutionary compared to any other spiritual teachings I was exposed to. His teachings had an exact formula to end unnecessary suffering for myself and others.

3) What do you hope readers will take away from the book?

Eun: I hope most readers will experience a tectonic shift of consciousness in terms of what they consider themselves to be. The sense of self we all have – our physical bodies, our minds filled with thoughts, emotions, hopes and memories, and all other social-economic data capture only a small portion of our entire being. Deep in our consciousness, we all possess an incredibly large, deep, and spacious SOMETHING which can only  be described as the Christhood, Buddhahood, or Godhood.  Unless one realizes that this Christhood, Buddhahood is our real essence (i.e, True Self), we can never ever experience the total freedom, joy, and happiness which is our birth right.

Personally, I believe it is the perfect time for humankind to evolve into higher beings. Haven’t we experienced enough pain and suffering in the world of limitations, dogmas and rules? Love and compassion are just meaningless words unless enough of us are awakened to our true status.

Look and Feel Your Best with The Chakra Energy Diet

Chakra Diet 3DTHE CHAKRA ENERGY DIET: The Right Food, Relaxation, Yoga & Exercise to Look and Feel Your  Best!  is reviewed here by guest blogger Marya Mann, PhD, an author, Quantum Creativity Therapist and co-founder of the Loom of Love, a Center for Conscious Arts located in West Hawaii, on the Big Island:

From first tasty bite to the last, Becca Chopra’s vibrant new book is a feast for the senses, a square meal for the cells and a juicy delight for the higher mind. Fun, nutritious and colorful! And for dessert? She serves healing visualizations that help us set the table for zesty living where food is medicine, meals are celebrations, and  honoring food is a meditation on achieving your full potential.

In short, in Chopra’s book, the supreme yoga is a culinary art.

But the book is not just for yogis. Chopra says people who struggle with seesaw dieting, self-love, relationship, success and prosperity issues can find clues to chakra imbalances in these life problems. “You can thank your body,” she writes, “for giving you the clues you need to reach for your perfect self.”

Connecting the dots between the energy source of problems and the behaviors that either help or hinder their resolution, Chopra offers simple, fun lifestyle solutions to reverse the disease-ridden trends of modern dining. Color-coding foods to reflect desired energy states, yoga poses to stimulate vitality, and affirmations to affirm your True Self are easy to find and use in the well-organized book designed to help you “feed your chakras with high quality energy.”

Part I highlights the saboteurs of your health and weight that you need to avoid. Stress and pushing down uncomfortable emotions are two of the main menaces, but sugar, GMO foods, saturated fats and MSG all warrant abstinence. In Part II, you learn to identify if a chakra is out of balance and exactly what to do about it. “Eating a rainbow of colors is important to keep the chakras balanced,” explains Chopra.

Besides specific food combinations, exercises and yoga postures, undemanding suggestions like incorporating light exercise after a meal – “aiding your digestion as well as lightening your stress load” – are included.

I have long admired the natural spirit and articulate science in Becca Chopra’s work. Her previous books – The Chakra Diaries, Chakra Secrets, and Balance Your Chakras, Balance Your Life – show an uncommon nuance and perspective in her ability to communicate the power of subtle energies in concrete terms. Now, her passionate, clear aesthetic shows how one can make an art out of eating and make food for the soul out of art.

Together with brilliant color photos, Chopra’s text arouses the hunger for good food, not empty calories, making this one of my favorite kitchen books, almost good enough to eat!
