Review and Author Interview on “Inspirations” by Stephanie Clark

Many thanks to guest reviewer Heather Corbet, who is a spiritual mentor, medium and Reiki Master.

inspirations-coverInspirations by Stephanie Clark is a guidepost, illuminating the way back to your authentic self. This book will help you open yourself up to new perspectives, and will allow for a vast array of new opportunities to come your way. Your sense of fulfillment will deepen, and you will gain an increased understanding of your true essence, which is pure love.

As a mental health provider, Stephanie Clark knows the human experience all too well. After years of working with patients who were grappling for understanding of their place in this world, Stephanie began seeing similarities, a common thread of limiting and false perceptions, which were holding her patients back. To further assist and understand this process, Stephanie began furthering her own spiritual journey in order to seek answers.

During meditation and journaling sessions, images and ideas started to flow that allowed Stephanie to see her own limiting beliefs and perceptions in a new light. Then like an artist to canvas, Stephanie took the images received and narrated them into stories of hope and love. As she was witnessing a transformation in her own life, Stephanie felt inspired to share these uplifting messages with others.

As you explore the exercises and reflections in Inspirations, there is opportunity to witness your own transformation, as you are invited to take the most meaningful journey, which is the empowering journey within.

1. How did the idea for Inspirations start?

The initial seed for this book started a year ago, when I began to work with a spiritual mentor. Prior to that, I had been feeling an urge to look further within myself, but wasn’t sure how exactly to do it. By working with a mentor, I was able to open up a part of myself that I did not even know existed! I started to write stories from images that I would receive in meditation practice. I could see these rich visual images in my mind and then was able to translate them into short stories. I had the idea to make the stories into a workbook format in February of this year and the rest of the pieces all seemed to fall together within a few months.

2. What themes are present in your book?

The themes of Inspirations speak to the issues of worthiness, overcoming doubt, releasing limiting beliefs and beginning to live from a place of authenticity. Each story revolves around self-love. I feel most of the struggles that we face as humans can be traced back to the root feeling of being unlovable in some way. Every person can relate to not feeling good enough, which is why I feel this work speaks to people no matter what their spiritual background is. This is also why I wanted the book to focus primarily on self-acceptance, as once you truly believe that you deserve an abundant existence, then you will start to see miracles manifest in your everyday life.

 3. Can you explain the workbook format further?

Inspirations contains 21 brief daily stories which are 2-3 pages in length. Each story is designed to ignite a spark for further self-reflection. I envisioned this book to be a devotional of sorts, for the reader to review the daily reflections, ponder the messages, and then do the exercises throughout the day. The exercises themselves are mindfulness practices, meditations and visualizations.

 4. What would you most want readers to take away from reading your work?

The main message that I want to share is one of hope. I feel that we are all worthy of having an enriching life, full of love. My intentions for writing this book were for the reader to feel empowered, needed, and wanted in this life.

 5. What advice do you have for other first-time authors who feel they have inspiration to share?

My advice would be to develop a daily spiritual practice that resonates with you. This could be anything from meditation, to mindfulness practices or prayer. I believe that developing a sacred place between you and Spirit allows for your authentic messages to flow, which then ultimately will speak to the heart of your readers. Simply put pen to paper, suspend your self-judgments and let your inner spirit share your gifts with the world.

Inspirations is available on in both Kindle and paperback editions.

Calling You – Book Review

Thanks to guest reviewer, Leslie Powell Shankman, who offers this information on Calling You, which is an Award-Winning Finalist in the “New Age” category of the 2016 International Book Awards, and Second Prize Winner at the Amsterdam Book Award contest in the Spiritual Book category.

CallingYou_jpgCalling You, by Dr. Beatrix Czeizel and Aniko Gresko, recently translated from Hungarian into English, is a very unique book and as such defies easy categorization. In looking at the Table of Contents, one might be thrilled and intrigued by the promise of the information within. Or, one might find the span of chapter claims to be audacious. For this book delivers no less than an undistorted history of the Christ Soul, the Holy Family, and the purpose of their presence in the arc of Creation throughout the history of the Earth and the Cosmos. And this means that it offers a story that is so much more comprehensive and spectacular than the thin slice of history from 2000 years ago that humanity holds in current understanding.

Who are the authors? How did they get this information? How can they lay claim to such fantastic insights? They too, defy easy categorization. While one might cast their work as “New Age,” it would be a mistake to write them, or this book, off as light and unsubstantiated fantasy. In society’s terms, Dr. Beatrix Czeizel is an M.D. with a trained specialty in homeopathy. Both authors are healers in the deepest sense and have helped thousands of people in finding and solving the roots of physical disease that come from the more amorphous levels of the soul.

Both authors experienced car accidents in their 20’s, near-death experiences, entering a beautiful and expanded understanding of life. They could have slipped easily into that infinite freedom, but accepted the challenge of coming back. Beatrix was shown a beautiful light package at the bridge between the worlds and returned to make unraveling that her life’s work. When she came back, that bridge into a broader reality stayed open. Using the gifts of expanded vision that resulted from their accidents, Beatrix and Aniko have been exploring the vaster Cosmos and reporting on it ever since. English readers are fortunate to have access to two of their books, Stellar Nations-Soul Families, The Cosmic History Chronicles of the Milky Way Galaxy, and now, Calling You.

Calling You is essentially the diary of daily meditations which the authors refer to as “attunings.” Perhaps the sincerity of their hearts can be measured by the fact that the attuning sessions for this book involved sitting in an emptied, receptive state, waiting and listening for 7-12 hours at a time for almost a year and a half, from August 2011 through 2012. The cycle of life for the authors seems to involve being called into these “attunings” to receive information, integrating it, teaching it to a loyal group of students and then turning that knowledge into books (six so far) and over 50 guided meditation CDs.

In entering the attunings for Calling You, the prayer of the authors hearts was to be worthy to receive the true understanding of the Christ Soul and his mission, the true scope of his relationship with Mary Magdalene, the truth of the family they created and the truth of the principal characters that surrounded them. The resulting messages are nothing short of revolutionary and offer healing and a course correction for every person who reads and engages with Calling You. The book is organized in the order that the messages were received over that year and a half and as such it is a beautifully deliberate initiation journey. Each level of understanding creates the platform for the next level.

The ultimate aim of the book is no less than creating a pathway for the reader to learn how to wake up the seeds of Christ consciousness in their heart and being. The authors explain this as a consciousness that has nothing to do with religion or even with Christianity; this is the consciousness that we are all inherently capable of and need to move into to evolve humanity beyond the current expressions of strife. They cast Christ consciousness as a living and practical quality and ability of the heart by which a human being can become capable of operating the attributes of the Seven Wisdoms of Christ (unconditional love, acceptance, compassion, giving, forgiving, faith and trust in the power of the Light) simultaneously, in every minute, in every direction of life.

The title, Calling You, is apt. If your heart and curiosity spark to this beckoning and to the beautiful cover and presentation of the book, it is for you. This book offers so much loving explanation through vivid stories and is enhanced with full color pictures, suggested practices and rendering poems that distill and capture the human/cosmic journey. If you are drawn to respond to the call, you will truly enter a new and vast world. This world is not just the book, this world is the expanse and unexplored reaches of your own heart. The authors sum it up well in the introduction, “In reality, this is not a third dimensional book; the message manifested on the pages of this book is a multidimensional, living reality. This message is the map of a spiritual pathway which one must travel to unveil and understand the inner compulsion of one’s being. This message resonates with the hidden intention of the heart that is buried inside of all humans….”

Calling You educates also on the advances in scholarly research into the life and times of Jesus, showing us that the natural inclination of the current age is to inquire more deeply into the limited story of Christ that has been put forth by the institutionalized Church. Somehow we know there is more, that something is missing. It is the authors’ gift to humanity that they can ground us in the new and respected research and then take us well beyond that into our cosmological history and into our own hearts. If you truly engage with Calling You, you will not walk away from this book as the same person who entered it.

The Unity Oracle: Review and Author Interview

Unity Oracle coverThe Unity Oracle: A spiritual adventure to save the world is truly an action adventure novel that takes you on a page-turning ride into spiritual awakening. The tale begins with a geologist, Jason, in the Artic Tundra, where he finds the Earth’s energy strong and alive… and his search for precious metals becomes more of a search for his soul.

In an area of high energetic magnitude, surrounded by crystal rock on Chevron Mountain, he enters a portal where he sees translucent visions of people, geometric shapes and symbols, and learns from an Inuit Elder that he is about to begin his karmic path. He will be assisted on this path by many spirit guides and helpers including a gold octahedron, an East Indian Yogi, a Hindu couple, two Madonnas, a Polynesian goddess, and a Native American Indian Chief.

Jason undergoes phenomenal mystical experiences as he travels around the world to spiritual communities such as the Findhorn Foundation and Oneness University. Along the way, he learns much, often putting himself through pain and peril, e.g., when he proves: “Most fear is not even real and the only way to understand that is to step into it.”

Step into it he does, and we grow along with Jason as his wild spiritual adventure encompasses finding 7 golden triangles in mysterious ways that reflect his personal growth and finally combine to become a golden octahedron, The Unity Oracle, that can bring love and healing to our world.

Along the way, Jason undergoes out-of-body experiences, release of entities and primordial emotions, kundalini rising, communicating with angelic beings, accurate premonitions, bilocation, the use of animal totems, visualization and the art of manifestation. Take the ride with Jason through his spiritual boot camp and you too will envision a possible future of beauty, with the Great Spirit working with the Earth and its people.

Joseph D. Drumheller is a spiritual healer and geologist, living on transecting ley lines in the evergreen state of Washington, USA. He describes himself as an international man of mystery, who when he’s not at home writing about the Adventure, is out living it. Here, he answers my questions about The Unity Oracle.

Becca: In general, how much of your book comes from your own personal experiences?

Joseph: The Unity Oracle is about 20% pure fiction. I’ve lived the rest of it. The inspiration behind the book comes from mystical experiences I’ve had in Alaska, Findhorn, Oneness University and other places in Nature. I’ve also sprinkled in a little wisdom from what I’ve learned through relationships and the internal world of healing.

Becca: Your protagonist, Jason, faces some dangerous, disorienting episodes. Is that par for the course in spiritual awakening?

Joseph: I’m not sure. I don’t know what other people go through. Everyone’s spiritual awakening is a customized gift from the Divine. No two are alike, so it’s best not to compare. The disorienting and dangerous awakenings Jason experiences are a reflection of my own. I’m an Aries. We tend to hit head first.

Becca: What message do you hope readers take away from your book?

Joseph: My first aspiration was to paint a positive vision of the future. We’re in rapidly changing times with uncertainty looming on the horizon. We’re also in an unparalleled time of spiritual awakening. I wanted to combine global spiritual growth with a somewhat realistic outcome. It’s really an adventure about hope.

Becca: On Jason’s adventure, what main spiritual truths are conveyed?

  1. Suffering. Suffering is a result of suppressed pain that gets locked into the subconscious mind. When that happens, pain repeats.
  2. Healing. Suppressed emotion can be healed in meditation. When that’s done, repeating patterns of pain stop.
  3. Relationships. Close connections with people act as mirrors designed to accelerate personal growth. Marriage is the best example.
  4. AwakeningWhen suppressed emotion is healed, it opens the doors to spiritual awakenings. That’s when someone evolves from the understanding of a higher power to the experience of it.
  5. Union. When two people are independently awakened, they can form a bond of spiritual union, which goes beyond the physical and emotional aspects of most ‘normal’ relationships.
  6. Power. When someone is spiritually awakened, they can begin to align their will with the Divine. That creates the dynamics of flow, synchronicity and developing skills that transcend the physical world.
  7. Synergy. Synergy is the exponential multiplier effect applied to spirituality (i.e., the tipping point). Through collective consciousness and intent, we can change the world.

Becca: What is your vision of the Divine?

Joseph: Unfortunately, I’m not a visionary seer or a psychic. That means I don’t see God. I’m a feeler. My connection to a higher power is through a developed level of sensitivity. To me, it feels like electricity running through my body.

Becca: How would you suggest someone approach their desire for spiritual awakening?

Joseph: Aggressively and with their whole heart.  Go for it.

Becca: Do you have a continuing spiritual practice?

Joseph: I meditate daily, but my personal experience of Divine energy is greatly amplified when I work with other people in my healing sessions. It’s a type of synergy.

Becca: How does your non-fiction book, The Subconscious, The Divine and Me, relate to The Unity Oracle?

Joseph: They are more or less the same story. The Unity Oracle is an epic adventure of storytelling. The Subconscious, the Divine and Me is a how-to introduction to spirituality with lots of examples and case studies. Both cover similar aspects on the evolution of spiritual truths.

Joseph Drumheller’s books, The Unity Oracle and The Subconscious, the Divine and Me, are available on Amazon.

The Last Teacher – One Man’s Spiritual Journey Holds Lessons for All

2LTForhollywoodThe Last Teacher: Saints, Demons and Self-Discovery on the Spiritual Path by Michael L. Dales is at once a cautionary tale as well as an inspirational guide for those awakening to their spiritual journey.

Based on journals he kept while a devotee of Amma in India and The Great Healer in Bali, Dales writes an intriguing, honest, behind-the-scenes look at ashram life, following a guru, and both his good and difficult experiences seeking spiritual awakening.

I was especially inspired by his closing words that “anyone who earnestly chooses to embark on a spiritual journey – regardless of what they believe about themselves – can become a vessel for the Light that illuminates the world.” And the world needs Light Workers today more than ever.

The book intrigued me to ask Dales the following questions:

Dales1) Do you feel people need a guru to help them on their spiritual journey or can a person be their own best guru?

DALES: I believe that at different stages along the journey from the self to the Self, one needs a guru and at other times one needs to walk the path alone. Also, I feel that there are as many versions of the path of spiritual Awakening as there are souls. Each soul’s journey is unique. So, I would never suggest a “one size fits all approach” to spirituality. I would never recommend that everyone have a guru, or no one. To follow a teacher or not, to stay with a teacher or not, is between the individual and God. The path must be felt in one’s heart.

2) What are you doing now that you have left the ashrams behind?

DALES: Surfing… ha ha. To be serious, I am writing and I am following a path of direct connection without any human intermediaries. It is just my Divine Beloved and me now. That’s what is working for me in the moment. I don’t recommend this path to anyone nor would I discourage anyone from following suit. I believe each individual must follow their heart whether or not they are following a guru, living in an ashram, or living an entirely secular life.

3) What specific spiritual truths do you hold fast to?

DALES: The greatest spiritual truth that I can grasp is that the Divine Source — That from which we all come — is Love. Love is our Source and is our ultimate goal.

The other truth is that the path of Awakening is an ongoing process of dissolving our blocks which hold us back from knowing the Supreme Self within.

4) What do you hope readers will take away from your book?

DALES: I hope that the reader will be inspired to follow her or his own unique path to the indwelling Divinity. Perhaps those curious about the spiritual path will get a taste of it and become inspired to follow their heart’s calling to find Divinity. Maybe other readers will read about the mistakes I made and make different choices. Maybe some on the path will be reinvigorated in their quest for Awakening. In truth, I felt called to write this book, which may mean it serves some purpose beyond any that I have in mind.

5) What advice do you have for others who have inspiration to share?

DALES: Please share it. Write it. Blog it. Talk about it. Sing about it. Whatever. When I was a kid, I read Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda. That book inspired me in a way that few other things in life did. It served as a window onto the spiritual path and alerted me to the possibility of exploring different levels of consciousness. Yogananda shared his experiences and it helped me and countless others who were interested in the spiritual path. Sharing your experiences can help others, sometimes in unexpected ways. For example, even though I am not a cook, I read the autobiography of a chef and I was moved by his frank depiction of his life in the restaurants of New York. That inspired me when I sat down to write The Last Teacher. I doubt that the chef would have ever expected his book to inspire someone writing a spiritual memoir, but it did. So, I feel that if you have something to share then share it. You don’t know how it may expand consciousness for others, but it just might. Sharing your experiences can alter the consciousness of others. What you have to say can be a valuable gift to a world.

The Last Teacher is available on in both Kindle and print versions.

9781629010076 cov.inddA Soft Landing came to me when I needed it most – in facing illness in my family. Stacey Blake’s memoir of dealing with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is filled with miracles of faith, love and peace. Her story includes visitations by angels, a near-death experience, accounts of her years of life-and-death medical treatments, all interspersed with a page-turning story of her personal life and her career as the co-founder of a successful business.

Even before her diagnosis of CML, Blake was on a spiritual path that she believes not only saved her life, but her mind and that of her family. When she needed a sign to have faith, often a feather would appear, which she described as her sign that God and her angels were near, and to not fear, no matter what.

For Blake, prayer helped her fear dissolve, her exhaustion abate, and her choices become clearer on how to handle the trials life put in her path. After much prayer, Blake saw miracles appear. “The feeling of being all alone for me has completely gone from my consciousness. That is by far, in and of itself, the greatest, most enduring gift,” she writes.

We’ve all pondered the age-old question, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” Answers range from stress as the cause of illness to past-life karma. When Blake’s husband Tom questioned why she fell ill, Stacey asked, “If we believe that illness comes as a teacher, (and I do), then maybe, the lesson is not only for me…but for you as well? Maybe there is something God has in mind for you specifically and I am the facilitator of this lesson, meant for you, because we love each other so much?”

This is just one example of the many touching and thought-provoking ideas presented in A Soft Landing. Another, one of the favorite themes in my own books, is that LOVE HEALS ALL.

BlakeAuthor Stacey Blake kindly answers my questions here:

1) Angels play a large part in your spiritual evolution. Are they here for all of us, even those who don’t hear voices or see signs such as feathers?

Blake: Angels are here for all humans/souls, everyone. They are here in loving service as directed by our creator/God. No matter one’s faith, lack of faith, religion, intellect, or financial status – everyone, at birth, is gifted with a special guardian angel. For some, they may have many angels. Angels come and go during trying difficult times, times of great joy, or when a soul needs to be supported for special work that they may be doing, etc. Always, always though, there is one personal guardian angel for each of us who never leaves our side while we are here on earth.

As to signs from Angels…Angels respond to a soul’s vibration. One of the most important truths as to spiritual growth is to learn calmness and self-discipline. Souls that have strong emotional outbursts, and wildly charged feelings, are like thunderstorms. Angels cannot come close when this occurs. So they withdraw…pull back, but never, ever leave.

Suffering does soften a soul. And when this happens, the mental pursuit of answers falls back a bit, and the heart opens. When that happens, a soul can become very receptive to their Angel’s loving messages, and if one is most fortunate, one may hear their Angel’s voice, or receive signs that they are near. Such as the finding of feathers. Or the smell of a loved one’s cologne or cooking, like a grandmother or a friend who may have passed and who may be in heaven. Subtle signs that confirm “we are never alone.” Or one may hear their name, or they feel a presence ever so softly…these kinds of events. Over time, when willed and or strongly desired from the heart and for the right reasons, it can grow.

Most especially, as a soul begins to become aware and conscious of their actions and are themselves “walking in the light,” the Angels can draw near. How to achieve this? Be truly kind, (as often as you can), be loving, helpful, calm, controlled, surrendered and accepting…to the will of the Almighty. Try not to fight so hard when faced with challenges. It is all good!!!

2) Do you feel stress (especially from your job) contributed to your illness, or do you think it was just part of God’s plan for you?

Blake: Yes, I do believe that a combination of both is true for me. Stress, extreme stress at times was the trigger for my leukemia, but also too, I am very certain the Universe, God, wanted for me to begin a new chapter in my life. I had learned all that I needed to in running a business for the many years that I did. I was tested and tried in many various ways, and I believe that through steadfast purpose, integrity, and commitment, I completed all that I was meant to be in that role.

I firmly believe that “light-workers” alive on earth today must work and be a part of the human condition – the world as it is. They must become the politicians, the business-people, the janitors, the teachers, the neighborhood Moms, all of them. We must conquer being on this earth, through its trials and sufferings, and we must hold God and his love, within us at all times. That is where our strength comes from. That is His purpose I believe for us. To find this “consciousness,” maybe even we can call it the “Christ Consciousness,” which is a universal state of being – having nothing at all to do with religion, or dogma, but it is a state…a frame of being, always or at all times…that allows us to be free from the duality and suffering that we see. Allowing HIM, HER, IT to be by our side through it all. THAT which is and will always be…our creator God. The source of all energy, everywhere, through all the worlds.

3) What specific spiritual truths do you hold fast to?

Blake: I believe that we are safe! That God’s love for us all is all that is real and that we are at our strongest when we walk free and away from fear.  This takes a long time for a soul to accept, but once it does, it is forever changed. The Kingdom of Heaven lies within the heart. And there courage, faith and deep joy resides. We begin to understand that our trials and tests have a purpose and that life is not chaotic. Every soul has it within themselves to be a master and to have freedom from the ties that bind the soul to desperation and depression. Baby steps….

4) What do you hope readers will take away from your book?

Blake: What I hope most that people take from my book is that when you hold God, and his Angels deep inside your heart, one will walk in the truth and knowledge, (everyday), that ALL is well. With this knowledge in hand, a soul – when life’s tests come – when the initiations are at hand, you (who in your heart of hearts) “trusts”…that only good can and will come from these experiences, are surrendered…to the will of the Almighty. These are the times that lead to the deepest peace and joy possible.

5) What advice do you have for others who have inspiration to share?

Blake: Begin in any way that feels right. Help your neighbors, your local shelter for animals, hold a meet-up group in your home, write, lecture, aid those around you who are ill or are depressed, confused and alone. When you hear the calling – respond in the ways and manner you feel most comfortable. Baby steps. It is always the little things that move me the deepest. It is said that if you “shout from the mountain tops – but no one below hears you, then you are wasting your breath.” I believe actions speak louder than words. I also believe that words can get in the way.

The “glamour” of the world…the “image of things and of people”…can lead a soul down a long, winding, nowhere path. The heart of any truth lies often in the results of how something or some act makes you feel. If you feel…good, strong, happy and at peace, then this path is right for you.

The Law of Attraction Works Because the Creator is Within Us All

61cuvi4BMYLAre you ready to live a life filled with vitality and joy in the never-ending playground of the universe? Then you’ll want to pick up The Seed of Christ/Buddha Within You. Susanna Eun and Simon Kim share the empowering message that we can all find the Creator within ourselves and, therefore, we have unlimited potential to create any reality we desire.

Susanna Eun, an energy healer from New Jersey, was looking for answers to the core questions: Who and What Am I? She found them in the writings of Korean Simon Kim. What was the message of Kim’s teaching? That humans are the representation of the ultimate Creator in human form and that living one’s life as the Creator, whether we use the term God, Christ, or Buddha, is the only solution to end the pain and suffering in the world.

This fascinating book assures us that life as we know it is simply a by-product of the illusions and stories we have created with our thoughts. Instead of existing only in the very small frame of reference of the reality within which we live, we have the capacity to be much greater beings.

What is the nature of our true Self once we wake up from the world of dreams and illusions? In questions and answers with Eun, Kim explains that “the person you used to accept as yourself is actually an avatar that experiences only a part of your true Self on this planet in this lifetime.”

Because we are all part of the “Creator,” our desires will turn into realities if we truly put all our effort into it. In this way, the authors explain the “Law of Attraction,” and instruct the reader to declare, “I am someone with unlimited potential and endless possibilities.” We naturally become the ones we accept and acknowledge ourselves to be.

Unless we are awakened to our true nature, the world will continuously reflect what we perceive ourselves to be – human beings with limitation and shortcomings.

The answer given in this book is surprisingly simple: Change your perspective on who you think you are. Let go of the old stories and limiting beliefs and embrace your power to create the life of your choosing… regarding the world as your canvas and living your daily life as if you are painting a masterpiece. It can help to view yourself as the epicenter of the whole universe, say the authors, instead of from the perspective of your physical body.

How can you live life to the fullest? The authors suggest:

  • Simply accepting the whole world and everyone in it as they are, without any interpretations.
  • Establishing the best possible relationships with all beings in all situations.
  • Offering gratitude whenever possible and witnessing how the quality of your life increases.
  • Living in the present moment and letting go of your past and future.

If you have been living inside a dream, scripting endless sad stories, firmly believing you knew who you were, you may want to practice the “STOP” Meditation offered in the book, to stop all mental activities and focus on who and what is behind all your decisions and choices. The result can be a deep and abiding peace as you remember that you are complete and perfect to begin with.

closeup3 (3)Here, co-author Susanna Eun, an alternative healer whose specialties include acupuncture, Eastern and Western nutrition, and other energy healing techniques, answers my questions:

1) How did you collaborate with Simon Kim? In addition to translating his book, how much did you add to The Seed of Christ/Buddha Within You?

Eun: I first read about his work in some spiritual publications. After I was convinced of the originality, authenticity, and truthfulness of his work, I went over to Korea to meet him in person.

The original work published in Korean was way too complicated and heavy, hence I had to rewrite the entire book to make it more readable and explainable. I had to cut out a lot of deep Buddhist philosophies; I also added quite bit of texts on creationism, theory of evolution, the guidelines of meditation, all of which were not included in the original texts. Simon Kim entrusted me with the entire process.

2) What one precept inspired you so much that you took on the endeavor of sharing Kim’s work?

Eun: Everything I had learned and practiced prior to encountering Simon Kim’s teaching did NOT provide enough voltage to break through the veils of relativity and duality. He had something extraordinary to offer – his teachings were so dramatically different, simple and revolutionary compared to any other spiritual teachings I was exposed to. His teachings had an exact formula to end unnecessary suffering for myself and others.

3) What do you hope readers will take away from the book?

Eun: I hope most readers will experience a tectonic shift of consciousness in terms of what they consider themselves to be. The sense of self we all have – our physical bodies, our minds filled with thoughts, emotions, hopes and memories, and all other social-economic data capture only a small portion of our entire being. Deep in our consciousness, we all possess an incredibly large, deep, and spacious SOMETHING which can only  be described as the Christhood, Buddhahood, or Godhood.  Unless one realizes that this Christhood, Buddhahood is our real essence (i.e, True Self), we can never ever experience the total freedom, joy, and happiness which is our birth right.

Personally, I believe it is the perfect time for humankind to evolve into higher beings. Haven’t we experienced enough pain and suffering in the world of limitations, dogmas and rules? Love and compassion are just meaningless words unless enough of us are awakened to our true status.

If you have noticed a shift in Earth energies, you are not alone. Wendy Joy’s book explains how we’re in the midst of a vibrational shift that gives everyone the potential to connect with Spirit to find their life’s purpose, and to make a difference in the world. She teaches the reader how to be the clearest channel possible for guidance from Spirit, and as an energy healer.

Joy’s own experiences in healing her body, mind and spirit offer self-help possibilities for all. “Speak your truth, operate from love and know your power,” she writes. Once we have done these things, our Divine life purpose, the meaning we all seek to find, becomes evident.

A Reiki Master, Joy shares her magical experiences using this hands-on healing modality, as well as chakra clearing, meditation, healing “past” lives, astral travel, intuition and psychic phenomena. As an energy healer, she explains how effective it is to ask every pain, every illness, every disease, why they are present, so that you can look underneath the pain to see what needs to be healed.

My favorite chapter asked, “Are You Feeling the Love?” Operating from love enables us to be a clear channel and heal ourselves and others. The seven tools she offers to help maintain a position of love are meditation, deep breathing to keep your energy flowing, asking for help from Spirit, watching your thoughts to keep out judgment, seeking out like-minded people, consciously sending love to every situation from your heart chakra, and keeping a positive perspective.

She also covers what is was like for her in becoming empathic and offers suggestions on what to watch for and how to deal with signs of awakening to Spirit. She stresses that Spirit will communicate with you only when you are ready, to give you any guidance that you need and desire, most likely first through concrete signs, then gut intuition through the solar plexus and heart chakra, then higher-level intuition from the throat, third eye and crown chakras, and finally conscious contact with your Spirit Guides, angels, even Jesus and other avatars. Joy bravely shares the road she has traveled on her way to spiritual awakening and is a wonderful example to follow in embracing our own power.

Happy I Read This!

The Happy Place is part poignant memoir, part self-help. It’s a quick read, but can have profound long-term effects on your life. What Gosselin does so well in her book is to take the most recent neuroscience research confirming that the brain is capable of change, tell us how she changed her own brain circuits, and then simply explains how the reader can too.

Gosselin recounts how her expectations were creating her reality and how we’re all doing that every day. Once she realized that she was programming her mind with her “words” or “feelings” every morning, she learned to correct the negative programs she was running in order to lead a more happy, healthy and fulfilling life.

“Don’t live as if the present is the past,” she writes. Instead, check in with yourself every morning, asking “How do I feel?” Then she explains how to follow the feeling to its root – usually in childhood to the first time you felt this way. Once you become aware how your brain was “wired” early in childhood and became addicted to certain feelings, you can then choose a better feeling and change your words. Doing this every day for 28 days will rewire your brain, explains Gosselin, so it’s a good daily practice.

Taking Gosselin’s journey with her as she discovers why she is unhappy, or always feels second-best, and then dramatically changes her life by processing her own feelings, is very inspirational and can guide anyone along the same beautiful path.

Spiritual awakening happens when you are ready. If you are searching for answers to the meaning and purpose of your life, Kaasila’s new book may be the guide you are looking for. He does not tout any specific religion or dogma, but rather transcendence beyond the “dream world” of our emotions, thoughts and addictions, to an awareness of our spiritual nature… where we can experience the one universal awareness.

Kaasila takes you step by step, explaining how you are not your emotions, you are not your thoughts, you are not your roles, not your pain and suffering, not your body or your ego. Rather, he explains that we are spiritual beings inside a material dream, and how to grow the spiritual dimension in our lives.

I found reading this book a meditative experience in itself.

Finding New Meaning in Life

How do you find meaning and purpose in your life? Especially if you have lost a partner or friend or job and find a “whole” in your existence?

The answer is to focus on what you want to create and experience next to find meaning and satisfaction. Recognize your gifts and use them to make the world a better place for yourself and others.

Love all, be grateful for what you have, help others and have fun while doing it. Either find meaning in your work itself, or if not that, meaning in working for the love and betterment of our families and all people, and the world itself.

“If you are feeling bored or disconnected from life, then you have lost touch with your spirit and awareness of the many blessings and gifts God has given you. To cure boredom stop holding yourself back from life and take a risk. Take a chance and get involved in something bigger than you. Goodness knows the world has ample opportunities to choose from,” said Sonia Choquette in her recent “Heal Your Life” posting.

There are many opportunities to “connect,” which is the way to overcome spiritual malaise. Volunteering at a shelter or community garden, taking a class to learn a new skill, use your creativity in a new way or find balance in your life (perhaps yoga, meditation or chakra work), or joining a group whose purpose resonates with your heart and soul.

For example, The International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers came into being in 2004 to help spread peace and promote healing.

Together, the Grandmothers unite ancient indigenous prayer lineages from around the world to create a sacred circle for blessing and healing. You can enter into a virtual circle with them for 3 nights the first week of October, 2011, in a circle that will call us into a spirit of reverence and personal and planetary healing.
